On February 7, 2022, he enlisted in the 206th Obolon Territorial Defense Battalion; from February 24, he served in the Armed Forces of Ukraine (Irpin, Bucha, Borodianka).
In May–June 2022, he formed the "Madyar's Birds" unit (initially 26 personnel). He fought for 110 days in Bakhmut (Khortytsia Operational-Strategic Group). In January 2024 — the first separate UAV unit of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (414th OUBPS MP). In December 2024 — the world's first unmanned systems brigade (414th Unmanned Systems Brigade "Madyar's Birds"). In August 2025, he presented the "Standard-10" doctrine.
Under his command, the USF accounts for over 35% of verified hits (with 2.2% of Armed Forces of Ukraine personnel) and conducts strategic strikes to a depth of 1,500–2,000 km on Russia's oil refining infrastructure. In July 2025, he addressed the NATO summit in Wiesbaden. His Telegram channel @robert_magyar has 534K subscribers. Convicted in absentia in Russia (2026) — a sign of strategic influence.
