Robert Brovdi (Magyar)

Commander of the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine

Robert Brovdi (callsign «Magyar») is a Ukrainian military commander who leads the Unmanned Systems Forces (SBS) of the Armed Forces of Ukraine since June 3, 2025. A Hero of Ukraine, he was born in 1975 in Uzhhorod to the Hungarian minority community. Before the war, he worked in grain trading and co-founded the BrovdiArt foundation. He volunteered on February 7, 2022, participated in the defense of Kyiv, and founded the pioneering "Madyar's Birds" drone unit in May-June 2022 with 26 personnel. He fought 110 days in Bakhmut, participated in counteroffensives at Urozhaine/Staromaiorske, Krynky operations, Pokrovsk, Kharkiv, and Kursk/Belgorod directions. Under his command, SBS delivers over 35% of verified strikes while comprising only 2.2% of AFU strength, conducting strategic strikes 1,500-2,000 km into Russia.
